RBI Application Forms: Avoiding Upload Rejections
Applying for Grade B Officer or Assistant positions at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is arguably the most prestigious pursuit in the Indian banking sector. The RBI utilizes an application portal infrastructure similar to IBPS, meaning it relies on uncompromising automated filters for your photograph and signature.
1. The 200x230 Photograph Dimensions
The RBI portal requires your photograph to be strictly 200 pixels wide by 230 pixels high. The file size must fall perfectly between 20 KB and 50 KB.
- Background and Lighting: The background must be white or off-white. The photo must be well-lit, avoiding any "red-eye" effects or harsh shadows.
- The No-Spectacle Preference: While thin prescription glasses are technically permitted if there is zero glare, the safest approach for RBI applications is to remove spectacles entirely. Dark glasses or tinted lenses will cause immediate rejection.
2. The Signature Requirements
The signature must fit a 140x60 pixel bounding box and remain strictly between 10 KB and 20 KB.
Because the 20 KB maximum is highly restrictive, you must sign in thick black ink on unruled white paper. Signatures uploaded in block capital letters will be universally rejected by the RBI verification team. Ensure the cropped image contains only the signature and no excessive white space around the borders, as this inflates the file size unnecessarily.
