SBI Application Forms: A Guide to Perfect Document Uploads
The State Bank of India (SBI) recruits thousands of candidates annually for PO, Clerk, and Specialist Officer roles. Given the sheer volume of applicants, SBI’s online portal employs a strict algorithmic check on all uploaded files. A photo that is the wrong aspect ratio or a signature that exceeds the kilobyte limits will stall your registration completely.
1. Photograph Dimension and Clarity
The SBI portal mandates a passport photograph with exact dimensions of 200 pixels wide by 230 pixels high. The file must be compressed to remain between 20 KB and 50 KB.
- Background Color: The background must be a solid, light color (white is preferred). Dark or heavily textured backgrounds are routinely flagged.
- Facial Visibility: Your face should cover 75% of the frame. Look directly into the camera lens with a neutral expression. Ensure both edges of your face are clearly visible.
2. The 10-20 KB Signature Challenge
The most common hurdle in the SBI application is the signature. It must be cropped to exactly 140 pixels wide by 60 pixels high, and compressed into an incredibly restrictive 10 KB to 20 KB threshold.
To avoid uploading a blurry, pixelated mess, always sign on unruled, pure white paper using a thick black pen. The thick black ink provides the necessary contrast to survive the aggressive JPEG compression. Furthermore, you must sign in a running cursive style; signatures written in block letters are strictly prohibited by SBI.
